I've always had respect and admiration for anyone who can play a musical instrument, No matter what kind of instrument or musical genre. Even if you're just entertaining yourself at home like me following along to a song, the feeling is amazing. In my own humble way, I really enjoy following along to GD songs on guitar. Ballyhoo is no different. And it appears to be very popular as there are a number of covers on YouTube. I particularly like this one:-

When I'm listening to this and hear the part "Some days I'm reaching for a blade, I gotta let it go, Sometimes I'm reaching for a knife, I gotta let it go, So no hard feelings..." I always think of an interview Billie did like 15 years ago where he was talking about seeing people who've talked shit about him not being punk and selling out etc and said "They're lucky I don't have a fucking knife in my boot" lol. Healthier attitude now

I took it as about his attitude toward his self-destructive tendencies. Like the impulse is still there but he’s learned to, well, let it go. Kinda tied in to that line in Look Ma, No Brains! “it’s too late now for my suicide”.

Just realized how much this sounds like Sex, Drugs, and Violence.
