Broadway Idiot
The Ocean County Register just announced that Broadway Idiot, Green Day's documentary about the making of their American Idiot musical, will open the Newport Beach Film Festival on April 25th.
"The opening film April 25 will be the West Coast premiere of "Broadway Idiot," a documentary that follows the punk band Green Day from a concert at Madison Square Garden to the Broadway premiere of "American Idiot." That musical is based on the band's Grammy-winning album of the same name. The documentary, directed by Doug Hamilton, was filmed over four years with direct access to the band, including lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong. Cast and crew are expected to attend the film."

Tickets for the festival go on sale this Monday, April 1st, on the Newport Beach Film Festival's website.

This will be Broadway Idiot's second screening after a successful premiere at the South By South West Festival earlier in the month.
