Mike Dirnt is selling decades of Green Day gear in his own Reverb shop
Mike Dirnt is digging into his collection and selling off a pretty ridiculous amount of Green Day history. The Official Mike Dirnt of Green Day Reverb Shop launches September 9 with dozens of basses, amps, cabinets and pieces of tour-worn clothing spanning most of Green Day's career.
Some of the more interesting pieces include two of Mike's Fender signature Precision basses used extensively during the American Idiot era, a signed Fender bass used to record Nimrod, one of his original Gibson Grabbers and a 1962 Fender Precision bass that was part of his studio collection.
Going even further back, Mike is selling one of the first Ampeg SVT-810 cabinets he bought with his first Green Day paycheck and used on the Dookie tour, along with one of two Yamaha G100-II amp heads he used on some of Green Day's earliest records and tours.
One of the cooler items are several instruments from the Nimrod and Warning tours that still carry the damage from nights when Tré would set his drum kit on fire at the end of the show.
Mike is parting with jackets from the American Idiot, 21st Century Breakdown and ¡UNO! eras, a patch-covered Revolution Radio vest with "Who the f*ck is Tré Cool?" stitched onto it, pinstriped Dickies and even the faux-fur jacket he wore with Foxboro Hot Tubs. Proceeds from the clothing will go to charity.
This isn't Green Day's first trip through the Reverb warehouse. Billie Joe sold a collection of his gear in 2017, and the full band launched its own Reverb shop in 2019. Green Day returned with another batch of nearly 100 pieces in 2023.
This is the first Reverb shop dedicated entirely to Mike.
