The album sold 139,000 copies in the US to grab the spot, beating out No Doubt's first album release in 11 years which took #3 with 115,000 copies sold. Mumford and Sons newest album, Babel, debuted at the #1 position with a staggering 600,000 copies sold, making it the largest album release this year.
Green Day's last two albums both debuted at #1 with American Idiot selling 267,000 and 21st Century Breakdown with 215,000 in their first weeks.
Interestingly, alongside the new album, it seems like interest in ¡Uno! also helped American Idiot get back into the charts. The 2004 album came in this week at #30 on Billboard's Catalog Albums chart, which lists albums older than 18 months.
