[img=041812_gleetimeof.jpg]Yesterday, the television show Glee announced that "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)" will be the concluding track on their Glee: Graduation album.

The album is set to be released on May 15th and will include other covers such as The Bravery's "Not the End" and Bruce Springsteen's "Glory Days," just to name a few. The final episode of the season that will feature "Good Riddance" is scheduled to air a week after the soundtrack comes out, May 22 on FOX.

When the news first broke yesterday over on our forum, it was immediately apparent that many fans were not very happy with the idea of having "Good Riddance" on the show. Since its 1997 release on Nimrod, "Good Riddance" has become one of the most popular graduation and wedding songs. It always seems ironic because, as Rob Cavallo explains in Green Day's episode of VH1 Driven, when Billie sings "I hope you had the time of your life," the line is actually sung in a negative light.

For anyone who has seen Green Day's American Idiot musical you know the cast always comes out after to do an encore performance of "Good Riddance." I'm curious to see if there are going to be any similarities in the arrangements between the American Idiot and Glee versions of the song.

What do you guys think about a Green Day song being on Glee? We'd love to know what you think, leave us a comment and let us know.
